Bell is the best internet provider in Windsor. We based our conclusion on the widespread availability of its service, its excellent infrastructure, and the speeds available.
Its Gigabit Fibe 3.0 plan offers symmetrical 3,000 Mbps speeds with a pure fibre-to-home connection.
However, not all users actually need these speeds, and with the plan costing $140 per month, it’s not the cheapest option.
For a more budget-friendly option that still delivers enough speed for the average user, we’d recommend Distributel.
Distributel’s Unlimited Fibre 1 Gbps plan costs $109.95 monthly, and if you’re willing to sign up for a 24-month contract, that cost falls to $69.95 per month.
But, if all you want is the ability to stream HD video and use smartphone functionality, you can settle for lower speeds and costs. For example, TekSavvy’s 100 Mbps package costs a mere $35.95 per month.
These aren’t your only options, however. See Windsor’s preferred home internet plans and read on for our unbiased take on home internet plans in Windsor below.
NetSpeed Canada considers internet plans, pricing, customer support, availability, broadband technology, and the overall value, when recommending internet service providers in Windsor.
When it comes to home internet plans, we also evaluate the download & upload speeds, installation process, contract requirements, unlimited data, user experience, and equipment rental options for each ISP.
To ensure our information is specific to your exact location, we use our proprietary database that has been built in-house by our team. We run regular spot-checks on local addresses in the database to verify ISP service availability.
As with any methodology, there are a few limitations. While we do our best to give you the latest and most accurate information on the speed and pricing of specific ISPs in your area, this data is variable and certain addresses may qualify for different internet services.
Although we generate our data points from the ISPs themselves, we do recommend entering your address into the ISP’s website to find specific plans available in your area.
The reviews and recommendations below are not sponsored. We independently test and review all internet service providers in this article and do our best to give you an unbiased view.

Although some of the smaller providers offer better deals, there’s no denying that Bell is one of the most powerful home internet service providers in Canada.
It’s not just a matter of market share – Bell’s infrastructure allows it to offer full fibre plans across most of Windsor. That means faster download and upload speeds with a high level of reliability.
Opt for Bell if you’re an intensive user. For example, you work from home and need those fast upload speeds. Or, you’re a streamer, video content creator or need rapid speeds to power your online gaming habits.
Needless to say, all Bell’s plans offer unlimited data.
Your plan comes with a GigaHub WiFi 6E router, and you can extend your WiFi’s range to cover your whole home with additional rented pods.
On the downside, some users are complaining about billing errors they’re struggling to rectify and as Bell itself admits, price increases can suddenly occur.
All the same, if you need fast internet, Bell’s Gigabit Fibe 3.0 plan may be the best that you can get.

If you prefer a budget-friendly alternative when seeking a home internet plan in Windsor, you might want to consider Distributel.
Its plans currently include a 24-month introductory offer with 1 Gbps download speeds and 750 Mbps upload speeds costing $ 69.95 monthly and $109.95 per month thereafter.
A symmetrical 150 Mbps plan is currently billed at $44.95 monthly for the first 24 months with the price rising to $69.95 after that.
Distributel runs on the Bell network, and as such, it’s reasonably reliable. Judging from what people are saying about Distributel online, most users appear to be satisfied with the service they’re receiving.

Not everybody cares about upload speeds, and if download speed and reasonable pricing are your priorities, you should check out TekSavvy.
Like Distributel, TekSavvy piggybacks on Rogers infrastructure but offers you a better price for your home internet plan.
For example, you can get 1 Gbps download speeds for $68.95 monthly, but upload speeds are relatively sluggish at 50 Mbps. The cheapest TekSavvy plan you should consider is its 100 Mbps plan, which costs $35.95.
But pricing may not be the only advantage. Users appreciate TekSavvy’s customer service which is reputedly prompt, friendly, efficient, and unscripted. As a result, it seems TekSavvy gives you the benefits of big name infrastructure without the customer service hassles.

Oxio offers several home internet packages in Windsor. Our recommendation is its Internet 1000, which offers a 1000 Mbps download speed for $85 per month.
The company was recently acquired by Cogeco and uses its infrastructure, but appears to have retained the client focussed, transparent approach that was previously its claim to fame.
The company provides cable connections rather than fibre – something of a downside – but its customers still seem to be happy with the service they receive.
While some users regret Oxio’s loss of independence, the brand still offers relatively reliable home internet and comparatively affordable prices.

Its Ultrafiber 1 gig unlimited service costs $99.99 per month unless you sign up for 24 months at $69.94.
And we have to say, despite the name, this isn’t pure fibre. This plan’s upload speed is only 30 Mbps—a sure sign that you’ll get FTTN (fibre to the node) at best.
You could get lucky with an introductory offer, but you can get hit with monthly price increases despite that.
All the same, there are some very happy Cogeco clients out there, and they report reliable internet and excellent customer service.
Most homes in Windsor can get 1 gigabit plans. Of course, not everybody is going for the fastest speeds they can get. Bell’s Gigabit Fibe 3.0 is the fastest plan most people in Windsor can access – but it isn’t available at all addresses.
The average download speed in Windsor is 183.89 Mbps, but with the rise of fibre, we can expect this figure to increase as the availability of super-fast internet expands.
You might spot home internet special offers in Windsor yourself. After all, providers hoping to sign up new users will use geo-targeted advertising to let you know about their deals.
Sometimes, home internet providers will approach you, especially when they’re new to your neighbourhood. Whether you noticed them or they noticed you, find out how long you can expect the offer to last.
Many users complain of being caught with a low-priced offer only to find that monthly price increases apply.
You can also get lower prices by signing up for longer contracts. These are usually 2-year contracts, so check what it would take to cancel one if you want to switch providers.
Ultimately, the best way to get reasonably priced home internet is to shop around. Prices and options differ widely, even within the same city.
You can see what’s available by using our comparison-shopping tool. Once you’ve spotted potentially good deals, verify them by using the relevant service provider’s website.
Some offers are very localised. For example, if a smaller ISP is offering low pricing in your building, bigger ones will lower pricing to remain competitive.
By the same token, you can try negotiating with a higher-priced ISP you prefer based on the cost of lower-priced available deals.
So far, we’ve been basing our conclusions on relatively fast download speeds. But, if you use few devices at once or don’t use the internet intensively, you will find even cheaper options than those we’ve examined so far.
For example, you can get a 30 Mbps home internet plan in Windsor from TekSavvy for just $29.95. The same speed from Oxio costs $48 monthly.
Keep an eye out for developments. If providers like Rally or Beanfield begin offering services in Windsor, you might just see options with far faster speeds and much lower prices becoming available.
At present, your best option is going to be Bell. That’s assuming that “best” refers to speed and reliability.
Bell’s secret to success lies in its infrastructure which allows it to offer high-speed fibre to the home (FTTH).
With no intervening copper cable to stand between you and super-fast internet, and with Bell’s infrastructure allowing it to offer this kind of service to many homes, it’s our top choice.
If you aren’t an at-home worker, gamer, or influencer who needs rapid upload speeds, you can get a price advantage with TekSavvy.
Its home internet plans start at $29.95 per month for 30 Mbps, or 1 Mbps for $68.95 monthly. Compare that to Bell, which offers 1.5 Mbps for $130 per month and 500 Mbps for $125 per month.
Most households in Windsor have access to fibre internet, but it pays to know the terminology. For example, full fibre or fibre to the home (FTTH) is the fastest.
You can recognize it by comparing upload and download speeds. If they are the same, the company is offering FTTH plans.
Some companies advertise fibre, but use fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) technology. That means your home internet is connected to a fibre node using copper cable. This slows things down significantly and it reflects in de-prioritised upload speeds.
Unless you live in one of the very few buildings offering Beanfield’s insanely fast options, your fastest option is offered by Bell. Its Gigabit Fibe 3.0 plan costs $140 per month, but those speeds are worth the cost for people who use their internet intensively.
To determine exactly what speeds you need, you need to look at two things: what you do online, and how many devices in your home are trying to access the internet at once.
If you’re just browsing the internet and checking email, you’ll use between 1 and 5 Mbps.
If you stream video, you’ll need up to 10 Mbps per device. But if you want HD streaming, that goes up to 25 Mbps.
You can video conference with as little as 5 Mbps, but image definition will suffer, and the more people are involved in your meeting, the more bandwidth you’ll need.
If you often download big files, faster speeds are better. After all, you don’t want to wait for ages for a download to complete.
As for the number of devices being used at once, they’ll all eat into your bandwidth. Nowadays, most households have several devices online at once, and streaming services are popular. That implies a need for faster speeds.
In general, we recommend download speeds of at least 100 Mbps to cover most household’s needs.
