Novus is the best internet provider in Vancouver thanks to its fast symmetrical fibre speeds, competitive pricing, and outstanding customer support.
Their Internet 1000 plan now offers 1,000 Mbps download and upload speeds for just $50 per month, making it one of the best fibre deals available in the city.
The main downside with Novus is availability, as service is limited to select multi-unit buildings.
If Novus is not available at your address or you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, TekSavvy is a strong alternative, offering affordable plans like 100 Mbps unlimited internet for $48.95 per month, with broad availability across Vancouver.
TELUS PureFibre internet has the widest broadband coverage in Vancouver and is becoming more competitive, especially if you’re willing to sign up for a 2-year plan.
You can view and compare the most popular home internet plans in Vancouver below.
NetSpeed Canada considers internet plans, pricing, customer support, availability, broadband technology, and the overall value, when recommending internet service providers in Vancouver.
When it comes to home internet plans, we also evaluate the download & upload speeds, installation process, contract requirements, unlimited data, user experience, and equipment rental options for each ISP.
To ensure our information is specific to your exact location, we use our proprietary database that has been built in-house by our team. We run regular spot-checks on local addresses in the database to verify ISP service availability.
As with any methodology, there are a few limitations. While we do our best to give you the latest and most accurate information on the speed and pricing of specific ISPs in your area, this data is variable and certain addresses may qualify for different internet services.
Although we generate our data points from the ISPs themselves, we do recommend entering your address into the ISP’s website to find specific plans available in your area.
The reviews and recommendations below are not sponsored. We independently test and review all internet service providers in this article and do our best to give you an unbiased view.

Novus is the largest independent internet service provider in Metro Vancouver. Novus uses fibre-optic internet technology to deliver reliable and lightning-fast speeds.
All internet plans offered by Novus come with symmetrical speeds and unlimited data, making them perfect for productive individuals working from home, as well as streamers and gamers.
The best internet plan is the Internet 1000, which offers 1,000 Mbps download and upload speeds for just $50 per month. In 2026, Novus dropped the price from $55 to $50, making it the cheapest 1 Gig fibre plan you’ll find in Vancouver. This is a limited-time offer.
If you want even faster speeds, Novus recently dropped the price of their 2,500 Mbps plan from $95 to $65 per month, making it a great choice for heavy users.
A unique feature Novus offers is the ability to freeze your subscription if you are travelling for an extended period. This lets you pause payments while you are away and resume service when you return, giving you full control over your plan.
Installation is free, and you also get a Wi-Fi 6 router rental included for two years.
From my personal experience, Novus customer service is top-notch. You can use their live chat to speak directly with an experienced technician if you run into any technical issues.
I’ve been using Novus for over three years now, and I’m really happy with the quality of their service. Before switching to Novus, I was with TELUS on their 1,000 Mbps plan. While the service itself was solid, the price was more than double what I pay now, and my experience with TELUS customer support was frustrating.
You can also rent a mesh Wi-Fi satellite for $5 per month if you want to extend coverage without sacrificing speed.
The only downside of Novus is availability, as service is limited to select buildings across Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, and West Vancouver.

TekSavvy is one of the best budget-friendly internet providers in Vancouver if you want solid speeds, fair pricing, and no contracts.
In Vancouver and across Western Canada, TekSavvy primarily delivers internet over Rogers and Shaw cable networks, which gives them broad coverage across the city. They’ve also started offering fibre-based plans through TELUS wholesale access, bringing faster speeds to more addresses without locking customers into long-term commitments.
For most households, the 100 Mbps unlimited plan at $48.95 per month is the sweet spot and offers more than enough speed for streaming, video calls, and everyday work-from-home use.
If you’re looking to spend as little as possible, TekSavvy’s 30 Mbps unlimited plan at $32.95 per month is one of the cheapest options available in Vancouver. On the higher end, TekSavvy also offers a 1 Gbps unlimited plan for around $77.50 per month, depending on availability.
What we really like about TekSavvy is the no-BS approach: transparent pricing, no contracts, and reliable Canadian-based customer support. They’re also the largest truly independent internet service provider in Canada, and one of the few left that isn’t owned by a major telecom.
TekSavvy also offers TV services, which can make bundling a bit cheaper if you’re looking to simplify your monthly bills.
Beyond plans and pricing, TekSavvy has been a long-time advocate for fair internet access and competitive wholesale pricing in Canada. As fibre availability continues to expand, we expect TekSavvy’s offerings in Vancouver to keep getting better and we’ll keep this page updated as new plans roll out.

Oxio delivers a straightforward internet service that is 100 percent focused on clients and their needs.
They use the Rogers network infrastructure under the TPIA agreement to deliver their services to most parts of Vancouver. Oxio offers several budget friendly plans starting at $50 per month for 50 Mbps download speeds.
If Novus is not available in your building, their 100 Mbps plan for $57 per month is an excellent alternative. Selected locations can access speeds as high as 1000 Mbps for $90 per month. Oxio is also very transparent with its pricing, clearly showing where your money goes.
They break it down into network cost, logistics, hardware, marketing, payroll, and profit. They offer free Eero 6 routers, free installation, and no term contracts, giving you a lot of flexibility.
The biggest con of Oxio is its broadband technology. Oxio still relies on coaxial cables and Rogers infrastructure to deliver internet to your home, while most competitors offer fibre internet with symmetrical speeds.

Telus has the best broadband coverage in Vancouver, and it offers the fastest internet technology with its 100% fiber network.
Telus offers the fastest home internet plan that is available to Vancouver residents in selected buildings.
The PureFibre Internet X 3G plan has symmetrical speeds of 3000 Mbps, no data caps, and is available for $130/month if you sign a 2-year contract.
The most popular internet plan is the PureFibre Internet Gigabit, which offers 1000 Mbps download and upload speeds for $110/month (2-Year plan) or $125/month (month-to-month).
The WiFi router is included in your monthly fee. You can self-install the Telus internet as the equipment can be shipped to your door or pay a fee for professional installation by an expert technician.
Some newer apartment buildings have the Telus router pre-installed, so all you need to do is give them a call to activate the internet for you.
The biggest downside of Telus, in our opinion, is the pricing, which is a bit expensive.
Additionally, their customer service is not always as good as its competitors’ support.

Rogers delivers high-speed, reliable, and unlimited internet using a fiber network.
After acquiring Shaw in April 2023, Rogers has expanded its footprint in Western Canada, bringing more competition and lowering home internet prices in the region.
The fastest plan currently available to Vancouver households is the Internet 1.5 Gigabit, which is capable of 1500 Mbps download speed and 150 Mbps upload speed. Priced at $110/month if you sign up for a 2-year contract.
Rogers also offers lower priced plans such as Ignite Internet 75 for $60/month (2-Year plan) that delivers 75 Mbps download and upload speed.
You can also rent their Ignite WiFi Pod (Gen 2) for $10/month if you want to extend your WiFi coverage.
What we don’t like is the fact that to get access to their competitive pricing, you need to sign a 2-year contract.

According to the latest Speedtest report, the median download speed in Vancouver is 176 Mbps and the median upload speed is 92 Mbps.
However, most households in Vancouver have access to 1 Gig internet plans or faster, which suggests that families are not taking advantage of faster internet plans and lower prices that have come with increased competition.
The Telus PureFibre Internet X 3G plan is the fastest internet plan available in Vancouver.
However, this plan may not be available to all households, as it is typically only offered in newer buildings.
Novus Internet 2500 is the second fastest internet plan but is also only available in selected buildings.
You can find promotions and deals for your home internet by visiting your ISP’s website.
Also, keep an eye out for any advertised discounts by providers in your area.
Some internet service providers offer lower prices if you sign up for a 24-month contract.
Additionally, if a smaller service provider with lower pricing is available in your building, the bigger service provider might offer special deals for the residents.
If the price of internet plans is your primary concern, there are many more affordable internet plans available in Vancouver.
The cheapest internet plan in Vancouver is 30 Mbps Unlimited by TechSavvy for $29.95/month. Oxio offers its Internet 25 for $40/month while Novus 100 costs only $50/month.
Vancouver has one of the most competitive home internet markets in Canada, and in 2026 there are real savings if you pick the right provider.
If it’s available in your building, Novus is the clear winner, offering fast symmetrical fibre speeds, excellent pricing, and strong customer support.
If Novus isn’t an option, TekSavvy is the best budget-friendly alternative, with simple pricing, no contracts, and reliable performance.
For the widest fibre coverage across the city, TELUS PureFibre remains a solid choice, especially with a 2-year plan.
Availability matters most, so enter your address above to see which internet plans you can get at your location.
The best home internet plan is the Novus Internet 1000, currently for only $50/month.
If Novus is not available in your area, we recommend choosing one of Oxio’s or TechSavvy’s plans for budget-friendly options.
Or if Fiber internet and fast speeds are what you are looking for, take a look at Telus.
TechSavvy offers the cheapest internet plan which costs only $32.95 for 30 Mbps.
However, there are other cheaper internet plans available, including low-cost options from Oxio, Rogers, and Novus.
While almost all ISPs offer various internet plan pricing options, not all plans may be available in your area.
Remember to enter your address on the website of your desired ISP to check the availability of the plans.
Yes, you can access fiber internet in most parts of Vancouver. Fiber optic technology delivers reliable and incredibly fast internet speeds, making it a great option for most users.
Make sure that you check with your chosen service provider to confirm whether fiber optic technology is available in your specific location. Novus, Rogers, and Telus all use Fiber internet.
The fastest internet in Vancouver is offered by Telus, with the maximum upload and download speeds reaching 3000 Mbps.
With this plan, you can unleash lightning-speed connections for seamless gaming, streaming, and more.
The 3-Gig internet is a fibre connection, and you can bundle it with TV, cell phone, and home phone service.
Additionally, Novus offers 2500 Mbps for only $65/month which is an awesome deal.
We recommend that you purchase an internet plan with at least 100 Mbps download speed. However, not all internet speeds are available in all areas.
You need to explore what internet connection types are available and then identify the internet plan with the most suitable speed for your internet needs.
For example, if you live in a metropolitan area, you will have access to a wide range of options including fiber and cable plans, whereas rural areas will typically have fewer options. Fiber provides the fastest speed, reaching up to 3 Gbps, followed by cable, satellite, and DSL.
You need to think of how you will use the internet and the number of connected devices before selecting a plan.
For working from home, you will need 20 Mbps for video conferencing, email, or social networking on one device. You need at least 30 Mbps for watching Netflix and 50 Mbps for HD quality.

Founder/Editor-in-Chief
Tomas, the founder and editor-in-chief of NetSpeed Canada, moved to Vancouver, BC over 10 years ago and was shocked by the high cost of home internet plans. As a problem solver, he researched alternatives and discovered that Canada has many lesser-known internet providers beyond the Big 3. This led to the creation of NetSpeed Canada, a platform where Canadians can enter their address and view all available internet plans.
