Novus Internet Review (2025)

Plans available in: British Columbia

Novus is a locally owned internet provider offering fast and reliable fibre internet across Metro Vancouver. Known for straightforward pricing, symmetrical speeds and no contracts, Novus is a favourite in many apartment and condo buildings. After switching myself, I completely understand why.

I was previously with Telus, paying $125 per month for internet without realizing there were better options. When I moved into a new building, I discovered Novus and was able to get 1 gigabit (1000 Mbps) internet for just $50 per month. That meant saving $75 every month, or $900 a year, and the experience has been better in every way.

Novus recently simplified its internet plans by removing the 250 Mbps option and adjusting pricing. Internet 1000 now costs $55 per month, while Internet 2500 dropped from $95 to $65 per month, making it one of the most competitive deals available in Metro Vancouver.

The Internet 1000 plan delivers 1000 Mbps download and upload speeds for just $55 per month, which is a deal that is hard to beat. For lighter users, there is Internet 100 for $50 a month, or Internet 2500 for $65 per month if you want extra capacity.

All plans include unlimited data, no-term agreements, and free installation. You also get a WiFi 6 router included for two years, with optional mesh WiFi add-ons for $5 per month.

One of Novus’s most unique features is the ability to freeze your subscription if you are travelling for an extended period. This allows you to pause payments while you are away and resume your service when you return, giving you complete control over your plan and ensuring you only pay for internet when you are using it.

When I first joined, I noticed the WiFi was not reaching my patio due to thick concrete and glass. I contacted Novus support through live chat and was immediately connected to someone knowledgeable with no hold times and no scripts.

They recommended installing a mesh WiFi unit, and just a couple of days later a technician came out and set it up. For an extra $5 per month, I now have fast and consistent internet throughout my unit, including the patio.

Novus runs its own fibre network, which means no congestion or throttling like you often get with cable providers. They are already in over 1,000 buildings across Burnaby, Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond, Coquitlam and other cities in the region, and they are expanding quickly.

Another sign that Novus values its customers is their approach to pricing for existing users. If you signed up when your plan was more expensive than the current rate, you can contact Novus through online chat and they will adjust your monthly fee to match the lowest available price. This is rare in the industry and shows that Novus cares about keeping existing customers happy, not just attracting new ones.

Customer service is a real standout. It is local, responsive and genuinely helpful, which is a refreshing change from the big telecom companies. Novus Internet reviews consistently highlight their fair pricing, reliable speeds and excellent support, and I can personally confirm that.

If Novus is available at your address, it is one of the best choices for home internet: fast, affordable, hassle-free and a great way to support a local business.
