Oxio is the best internet provider in Toronto thanks to their transparent pricing, no contracts and excellent customer support.
Their 1000 Mbps plan is our Editor’s Choice and a great fit for most households. For those on a budget, Oxio also offers a 100 Mbps plan for $52 per month, which delivers solid performance at a lower price point.
Another strong option is Rally, a local fibre internet provider that owns and operates its own network. They offer symmetrical download and upload speeds and deliver fast, reliable service.
Rally’s Fibre 500 plan is just $34.95 per month, but availability is currently limited to select multi-unit buildings in Toronto.
Compare the different home internet plans offered by the ISPs mentioned below.
NetSpeed Canada considers internet plans, pricing, customer support, availability, broadband technology, and the overall value, when recommending internet service providers in Toronto.
When it comes to home internet plans, we also evaluate the download & upload speeds, installation process, contract requirements, unlimited data, user experience, and equipment rental options for each ISP.
To ensure our information is specific to your exact location, we use our proprietary database that has been built in-house by our team. We run regular spot-checks on local addresses in the database to verify ISP service availability.
As with any methodology, there are a few limitations. While we do our best to give you the latest and most accurate information on the speed and pricing of specific ISPs in your area, this data is variable and certain addresses may qualify for different internet services.
Although we generate our data points from the ISPs themselves, we do recommend entering your address into the ISP’s website to find specific plans available in your area.

The reviews and recommendations below are not sponsored. We independently test and review all internet service providers in this article and do our best to give you an unbiased view.

Oxio delivers internet connection to its clients in Toronto using cable networks. What we like about Oxio is their transparency with the pricing of their plans. They give details on how they spend the money by breaking it down into marketing, logistics, hardware, payroll, network, and profit.
Our recommended plan by Oxio is the Internet 1000 which costs $85 per month. Their cheapest plan is the Internet 30, which costs $48 per month.
They have no contracts on their internet plans and offer a free eero 6 router as well as free installation. You can chat via email, SMS, Instagram, or Messenger if you need any customer support.
Their broadband technology is their biggest downside, as they still use cable networks instead of fiber optics, used by the competitors.

Bell is the largest internet service provider in Canada, and it offers the best broadband coverage in the Toronto area.
Bell uses a 100% pure fiber network to deliver fast and reliable internet to your home.
Our recommended speed offered by Bell is the Gigabit Fibe 1.5 (download speed of 1500 Mbps and upload speed of 940 Mbps) which costs $130 per month. Their cheapest plan is Fibe 50 which costs $85 per month.
Bell offers a free WiFi 6E Giga Hub, but you have to pay $60 for installation. You can use live chat or call 1 866 676 1953 for customer support. If you want to enhance coverage throughout your home, you can add WiFi pods for $5 per month.
One downside of Bell is that their fastest internet plan, the Gigabit Fibe 3.0, is not available in all households. In addition, there are many resellers in Toronto that offer lower prices than Bell on 1 Gigabit internet plans.
The CRTC recently ruled to expand competitor access to major fibre networks like Bell, so let’s see if other independent providers start rolling out competitive fibre plans. In theory, this should help drive prices down.

TechSavvy delivers value-heavy internet services to households in Toronto using coaxial cables and DSL technology. What we like about TechSavvy is that their internet plans have budget-friendly prices.
Additionally, the plans come with zero contracts, $0 hardware loan, $0 shipping, and $0 activation. You can call them via 1 877 779 1575 or have a live chat for customer support.
Their cheapest home internet plan costs only $29.95 per month for 30 Mbps, which makes it popular among households in Toronto. Another popular plan is the 100 Mbps for $35.95 per month.
TechSavvy’s drawback is that they still use DSL and cables for their internet connection and have not adopted fiber technology.
TekSavvy has long pushed for wholesale fibre access, and in May 2024, the CRTC granted temporary access in Ontario and Quebec. Starting February 2025, TELUS and Bell will open their fibre networks (FTTH) to competitors like TekSavvy. The key question is how wholesale rates will affect customer pricing. We’ll update our database as soon as new plans are released.

Beanfield is an independent service provider that uses pure fibre to deliver high-quality internet services to Toronto residents.
They are not a reseller, and they own and operate the entire fibre network, end to end.
What we like about Beanfield, besides their extremely fast internet plans, is their honest and transparent approach to pricing. Once you have secured an internet package, the price is locked in and won’t go up.
Beanfield’s cheapest plan is the 2 Gbps Fibre Internet which costs $60 per month while their fastest internet plan is the 8 Gbps Fibre Internet which costs $90 per month.
Apart from offering fast home internet plans, Beanfield also offers free installation and no rental fees on hardware. Beanfield’s customer service is also very accessible through phone call or email.
The only downside of Beanfield is that their availability is limited to mostly newer condo buildings in the Toronto area. However, they keep expanding their network and if Beanfield is available at your address, using them as your internet provider is a no-brainer.

For customers who cannot access Rally’s fibre network, they now offer SPARK100 VDSL service for $39.95 per month, delivered using Bell’s infrastructure under the TPIA agreement.

According to the Speedtest report, the median upload speed of Toronto is 49 Mbps while the download speed is 200 Mbps. Most homes in Toronto have access to a 1 Gigabit internet plan.
The fastest plan available in Toronto is the Bell Gigabit 3.0 plan which costs $140 per month for 3000 Mbps download speed and 3000 Mbps upload speed. However, this plan is not available for many households in Toronto.
Some ISPs provide cheaper plans if you sign a 24-month contract. Also, a bigger service provider may offer special deals if a smaller provider has cheaper deals in your building.
If you visit your provider’s website, you can find deals and promotions for your home internet. You should also check for any advertised discounts in your area by your ISP.
If you are on a budget and want to get reliable internet services in your home, TechSavvy offers the cheapest plans such as the 30 Mbps for only $29.95 per month. You can also get Oxio’s 30 Mbps for $48 per month.
The best internet provider in Toronto is Oxio, offering reliable service, no contracts, and transparent pricing.
Our recommended plan is Oxio’s 1000 Mbps plan, which delivers fast and consistent speeds for $85 per month.

Yes, most homes in Toronto can access fiber internet. This type of internet allows you to have access to reliable and fast speeds for gaming, streaming, and working from home.
Ask your internet service provider if fiber technology is available in your area. Virgin Plus and Bell use fiber for their internet connection in Toronto.
The fastest internet in Toronto is the Bell Gigabit 3.0 plan which costs $140 per month for 3000 Mbps download speed and 3000 Mbps upload speed. Additionally, the Bell Gigabit 1.5 is the second fastest plan in Toronto and it costs $130 per month.
With these fast speeds, you can experience seamless and ultra-fast speeds when gaming, streaming, and more.
The internet plan that we recommend should have at least a download speed of 100 Mbps. To know which plans are available in your area, you should enter your address on the respective ISP’s website.
The number of connected devices, the type of internet connection, and how you will use the internet will determine how much internet speed you need.
For example, if you are working from home, you need 20 Mbps which is enough for video conferencing, email, or social networking on one device. You need 50 Mbps for streaming HD on Netflix.
If you live in a metropolitan area, you easily have access to more cable and fiber plans compared to someone who lives in a rural area.
About The Author
Founder/Editor-in-Chief
Tomas, the founder and editor-in-chief of NetSpeed Canada, moved to Vancouver, BC over 10 years ago and was shocked by the high cost of home internet plans. As a problem solver, he researched alternatives and discovered that Canada has many lesser-known internet providers beyond the Big 3. This led to the creation of NetSpeed Canada, a platform where Canadians can enter their address and view all available internet plans.
