Finding out which internet providers are available at your address can be confusing, since availability changes by province, city, and even by building.
The good news is that you don’t need to waste hours searching. We’ve narrowed it down to the best internet providers in Canada based on where you live.
If you are in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario, we recommend Oxio for its affordable pricing, no contracts, and reliable speeds.
If fibre internet is available at your address in BC or Alberta, TELUS is also worth considering. TELUS operates one of Canada’s largest fibre networks and is currently offering some very competitive fibre plans. In Ontario, TELUS has also introduced a 1.5 Gbps fibre plan starting at just $70 per month in select areas.
In Quebec, Fizz offers the best value on flexible plans and runs on Videotron’s network infrastructure, giving you strong coverage across the province.
For residents in Atlantic Canada, Purple Cow is our top pick with simple, budget-friendly packages.

NetSpeed Canada considers internet plans, pricing, customer support, availability, broadband technology, and the overall value, when recommending internet service providers in Canada.
When it comes to home internet plans, we also evaluate the download & upload speeds, installation process, contract requirements, unlimited data, user experience, and equipment rental options for each ISP.
To ensure our information is specific to your exact location, we use our proprietary database that has been built in-house by our team. We run regular spot-checks on local addresses in the database to verify ISP service availability.
As with any methodology, there are a few limitations. While we do our best to give you the latest and most accurate information on the speed and pricing of specific ISPs in your area, this data is variable and certain addresses may qualify for different internet services.
Although we generate our data points from the ISPs themselves, we do recommend entering your address into the ISP’s website to find specific plans available in your area.

The reviews and recommendations below are not sponsored. We independently test and review all internet service providers in this article and do our best to give you an unbiased view.

TekSavvy is one of the best all-around options for home internet in Canada, especially if you want wide availability, fair pricing, and no contracts.
TekSavvy is a TPIA reseller, which means they have access to multiple major networks across the country. In Western Canada, they operate on Rogers and Shaw cable infrastructure, while in Ontario they primarily use Rogers, with additional access to Bell’s network. In Quebec and Atlantic Canada, TekSavvy also offers service over Bell infrastructure, giving them one of the broadest footprints among independent ISPs.
Pricing varies slightly by province, but TekSavvy remains very competitive. Their 100 Mbps unlimited plan is $48.95 per month in BC, Alberta, and Manitoba, while the same plan is $38.95 per month in Ontario, making it one of the cheapest high-quality home internet options available. For lighter users, TekSavvy’s 30 Mbps unlimited plan at $32.95 per month is one of the lowest-priced legitimate home internet plans in Canada.
Beyond cable, TekSavvy also offers fibre internet in select areas. They have access to Bell fibre and TELUS fibre where wholesale access is available, and they are actively building their own fibre infrastructure in certain regions. This makes TekSavvy one of the few independent providers positioned to compete long-term as Canada continues its shift toward fibre.
Another advantage is flexibility. TekSavvy does not lock customers into contracts, and you can also bundle home internet with TV and home phone services, which can lower your overall monthly cost if you want everything under one provider.
Customer support is another strong point. TekSavvy offers Canadian-based phone and online support, which is becoming increasingly rare among budget internet providers. Support quality is consistently rated higher than the large incumbents, especially when it comes to billing transparency and issue resolution.
The main downside is that performance still depends on the underlying network at your address. Cable plans will not match fibre upload speeds, and fibre availability is still limited in some areas. That said, for most Canadians looking for reliable internet at a fair price without contracts or surprises, TekSavvy is one of the safest and most versatile choices available today.
