Best Internet Providers in Mississauga, ON

Oxio has quickly become one of the best internet options in Mississauga for anyone who wants fair pricing, no contracts, and customer service that actually feels local.

Their 100 Mbps plan for $52/month is one of the best values in Ontario, and it includes a free eero 6 router and month-to-month billing. No activation fees, no promo gimmicks, and no long-term lock-ins.

The one thing to keep in mind is that Oxio runs on cable infrastructure from Rogers and Cogeco in Ontario. That means download speeds are fast and reliable, but upload speeds are slower compared to true fibre connections. For most households, though, 100 Mbps down is plenty for streaming, gaming, and working from home.

What sets Oxio apart is their transparent, all-in pricing and strong reputation for support. Their Quebec-based customer service team has a good track record of being quick, friendly, and helpful, a big difference compared to calling the big carriers.

If you want a straightforward internet provider in Mississauga without hidden fees or price hikes, Oxio is one of the strongest picks.

Bell is the biggest service provider in all of Canada, and its service availability in Mississauga is good. 

The company uses a full-fibre service, and this means that its internet is not only fast, but reliable. 

For the average home internet user, its Gigabit Fibe 1.5 (downloads at 1,500 Mbps and uploads at 940 Mbps will be more than sufficient. However, with a cost of $130, it isn’t the cheapest plan out there. 

Extras include the WiFi 6E Giga Hub installed at an added cost of $60 and WiFi pods at a cost of $5 per month. 

The fastest plan it offers is the Gigabit Fibe 3.0 – but that comes with a caveat. It isn’t available to all the households where Bell offers service. 

An additional downside: 1 Gbps is a good speed for most home internet users, and several of Bell’s competitors offer comparatively lower-priced plans in this range. 

Finally, Bell’s website warns that prices are subject to increases – and according to many users, this can happen unexpectedly or at short notice. 

Things might be changing soon. Starting in February 2025, the CRTC has mandated that Bell open its fibre network in Ontario to independent providers. This means smaller ISPs will be able to lease access to Bell’s fibre network and offer fibre plans to residents in Mississauga.

The big question mark is the wholesale pricing, which will play a major role in determining what kind of prices these independent providers can offer and whether it will push Bell to lower the cost of their fibre plans.

Coextro also offers budget-friendliness and deserves a mention for its 100/30 Hybrid Fibre Optic Plan at $39.95 per month. 

On the fast end of the spectrum, its 1,500/50 Hybrid Fibre Optic Plan, offering 1,500 Mbps download speeds and 50 Mbps upload speeds costs $69.95 – considerably less than Bell’s comparable package, but with slower upload speeds. 

We also like the fact that the company is transparent about what type of connection it offers. Hybrid fibre combines fibre with coaxial cables, hence the slower upload speeds. In simple terms, you connect to a node using coaxial cable, and the node runs on fibre. 

Like Oxio, there’s no installation fee, and you can run with a month-to-month plan rather than locking yourself into a contract. Customer service reviews are variable. . 

As so often happens with smaller providers, however, availability may be an issue in certain areas. So, although we rate this provider as well worth your consideration, it may not offer service where you live.

Another of the big players in Mississauga, Rogers offers Gigabit download speeds using its fibre network. It offers a 1.5 Gbps plan and a 2.5 Gbps plan. However, there are some downsides to consider. 

In the first place, pricing is on the high side, with a 1.5 Gbps (1,500 Mbps) plan costing $129.99 monthly. That’s comparable with Bell, but because it offers hybrid fibre, download speeds on this plan are just 50 Mbps. 

You can access more competitive pricing from Rogers, but that comes with a downside too. The 1.5Gbps plan’s cost drops to $109.99 per month – but only if you’re willing to sign up for a 2-year contract. 

In addition, their WiFi Pod rental for extended WiFi coverage in your home is $10 per month – twice the charge that Bell levies.

EBOX is a brand that was acquired by Bell in 2022. As such, it offers pure fibre and hybrid fibre home internet plans in Mississauga. And, you might be surprised to find that its pricing is lower – when service is available. 

Service availability appears to be one of the chief downsides of EBOX, possibly because Bell’s flagship brand already serves most addresses. 

However, if you can get it, you’ll enjoy fast, full or hybrid fibre internet for less. For example, a 500 Mbps plan from EBOX costs just $50 per month compared to $125 per month for the same upload and download speeds directly from Bell. 

Although Bell seems to be maintaining EBOX as a separate brand, the final downside may be that Bell doesn’t appear to be prioritising it. For example, some customers report lengthy service queues. 

At the same time, if you can get it, EBOX is cheaper and has more stable pricing.
